Drilling plugs to plug holes can be difficult. Drilling by hand to get an exact sized hole is not a perfect way to go, and drilling with a drill press may also not be accurate if the quill suffers from run out, therefore drilling a slightly larger hole. Tapered plugs are the solution to this problem.

The first 3mm of the cutter is the stated diameter, with the rest flaring out at a 3° angle. The cutter shaves the plug out of the timber, in a slicing action, so giving nice smooth plugs.

Tap the plug in until there is resistance, and cut the excess off.
