Robert Sorby 8008LH Heavy Duty Inboard Scraper

This heavy duty finishing scraper is produced using a massive 40mm x 10mm section. This means that it will absorb vibration and is extremely stable in use making it ideal for long overhangs over the tool rest when producing deep vessels, larger bowls and platters. This inboard grind is designed to be used when finishing working in the inboard mode of the lathe. Made from high speed steel and then properly hardened and tempered. It will keep a sharpened edge about six times longer than carbon steel and resist "blued" softening from overheating during grinding or from heavy turning. Comes with hard White Ash handles and solid brass ferrule.
